God’s Friend | HeartEyes

Friends are amazing! A relationship that I am totally comfortable with -and they with me- has great value. We share our heart’s desires and plans. We trust each other with our ‘deep’ stuff. We ‘do life’ together. We’re comfortable and authentic because we have nothing to fear. We are confident they have our best interest at heart. Always.

That’s why it’s amazing to me that Jesus calls me His friend! That’s significantly different than being a servant. Servants don’t know what their master is up to and simply carry out instructions out of duty. A friend is included in another’s inner circle of purpose. They know what’s really going on in the other’s life and are included in it. They still serve, but out of a heart of genuine love.

Wow! For God to be able to share His heart’s desires with me and we work together to carry out His plans, is well….it’s really amazing! That He would share what’s on His heart with me, makes me want to be sure He can trust me – to be listening, to know His voice and to fulfill the purposes of His heart.

John 15:15 is just a stunning verse in the Bible!
